Storrs Hall Hotel
The hotel itself is a lovely building and the grounds stand in a superb position however the quality of food let it down and it wasn't cheap.
I don't think at 52 pounds the meal was worth it and to charge £3.50 for each potion of veg. 11 poor quality chips per potion. 5 tiny carrots and a small amount or broccoli another £3.50. I would suggest the food needs looking at because that would stop us ever wanting to stay there again. Small things sometimes make a big difference. A not impressive bowl of fruit that all guests shared and they ran out of on our 3rd breakfast. Little pots of preserve they ran out of marmalade and raspberry jam. The bacon was anaemic. Sorry to sound like this but it wasn't good to say the 3 night stay cost us £787 pounds.
An excellent traditional English country house, very impressive building & grounds with helpful and pleasant staff.
However, we booked the accommodation as it was listed as 'pet friendly',as we have a large well behaved dog with us, yet when we attempted to have a drink in the Bar we were told that Dogs were not allowed. Also, it is requested that Dogs are not left unattended in the rooms. If you can't take them into the bar, and you can't leave them in the bedroom whilst you have a drink, what do you do?!!. A relatively minor point, but one that needs addressing.
