Great Little Hotel

This hotel was the most perfect little place in Berwick.

We has arrived for a family party and booked an executive room for the night. The room was huge, bed comfortable and all the essentials you would expect. Staff were delightful. We had a fee drinks in the ajoining cocktail bar which is super cute and I could have stayed there all day and night. Prices VERY reasonable too... We realised we hadn't had anything to eat all day with all the travelling we had done and all the excitement so we popped to their Lemoncello restaurant for a quick bite to eat. Food was standard Italian dishes, which were nice. Staff were all dressed up for Halloween and they all seemed in great form which was good!. The hotel is very secure with the use of your key to get through the front door after 11pm. Overall, this hotel was great!

Lovely room, please shift that motion sensor

This room was much better than most single rooms.

It was a very good size and the the bed was very wide for a single. The bathroom was beautiful, though the basin tap was so self-consciously stylish that it was quite difficult to actually use and I never managed to make the water run hot. The light nearest the door was operated by a motion sensor and every time I went to the wardrobe it clicked on and then off again, which started to drive me round the bend. The hotel seems to still have the original single-glazed windows and there are some issues with noise from staff emptying bottles etc into the bins in the courtyard and with people coming in and out. It's probably not allowed to instal modern wndows but secondary glazing would be an idea. One concern for me as a woman travelling alone is that the hotel does not rate highly on security. It is easy to get in and out without being seen by the receptionist and there are non-residents using the restaurant and bar all the time. I thought that £12 for breakfast was extortionate so refused to book it, and the receptionist seemed to take this rather amiss.
