Shame about the refurb!
The staff in this hotel are lovely -helpful, warm and friendly.
It's just a shame the 'refurb' on the hotel has been done for 'style' and not 'quality'. The design of the bath has you hopping in and out of it because its side is just too wide for comfort and the taps are lethal -I very nearly broke my finger trying to turn one on. A sad case of design over practicality which sums up the hotel itself. At first glance it looks boutique hotel style, sadly poor quality finish has left it with uneven floorboards under nice new carpets, dodgy bathroom fittings (oh the shower attachment also dangles of the wall in a peculiar manner!). It's a 'cover up' job:(
Plus side -beds were very comfy and it's in a brilliant location. We had a fab time in Berwick because we were there to have fun and appreciated more than anything the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. Just don't stay here if you're expecting luxury!
