About the hotel
The Three Acres is a welcoming, turn of the Century Drovers inn, which has been owned, maintained and developed by Neil Truelove and Brian Orme for over 30 years. Set in the rolling, green Pennine countryside to the south of Huddersfield, it has a well deserved reputation for its warm hospitality, excellent food, professional service and tasteful accommodation. Just ten minutes from the M1, The Three Acres is an ideal stopping off place for travellers heading north to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Scotland.
Situated in the shadow of Emley Moor TV mast, we are a mere five minutes drive from both the National Mining Museum and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is the largest in Europe. Chatsworth House, Nostell Priory, Harewood House and the Royal Armouries are all within easy driving distance. The excellent food served in our restaurant (as attested by many famous diners who have signed our menus and which can be seen displayed with pride around our walls) has won many awards and our menus change with the seasons to bring you the very best of fresh local produce. Good cooking is at the heart of The Three Acres. Our innovative menus combine the best of traditional English cooking with sophisticated, eclectic influences from all over the world. Food is served in the Bar, Bistro or you may prefer to join us in the Restaurant, either way you will be guaranteed an outstanding meal in a unique and relaxed atmosphere.

High quality for a reasonable price
Simply the best hotel/B&B I have ever stayed in.
I only stayed 2 nights, but they were 2 excellent nights. Courteous staff, extremely clean and homely rooms with everything you want, fantastic breakfast with more choices than you could ever need. If you want high quality everything for a good price and you are around this area, please look no further. All the good stuff you here about this place are true.
On the whole a lovely hotel.
If there is anything negative to say I would only comment on the fact that when you are in the bar area there is no where to leisurely sit and relax. Too many tables with people eating. We were waiting for a table, and felt the bar area too busy you could not get anywhere to sit out of the way. More chairs for people to sit and have a relaxing drink prior to eating would be fantastic.
