About the hotel
The Three Acres is a welcoming, turn of the Century Drovers inn, which has been owned, maintained and developed by Neil Truelove and Brian Orme for over 30 years. Set in the rolling, green Pennine countryside to the south of Huddersfield, it has a well deserved reputation for its warm hospitality, excellent food, professional service and tasteful accommodation. Just ten minutes from the M1, The Three Acres is an ideal stopping off place for travellers heading north to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Scotland.
Situated in the shadow of Emley Moor TV mast, we are a mere five minutes drive from both the National Mining Museum and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is the largest in Europe. Chatsworth House, Nostell Priory, Harewood House and the Royal Armouries are all within easy driving distance. The excellent food served in our restaurant (as attested by many famous diners who have signed our menus and which can be seen displayed with pride around our walls) has won many awards and our menus change with the seasons to bring you the very best of fresh local produce. Good cooking is at the heart of The Three Acres. Our innovative menus combine the best of traditional English cooking with sophisticated, eclectic influences from all over the world. superb, traditional countryrestaurant and hotel
We stayed overnight following a private event at The Three Acres. We first stayed for a similar reason 6 years ago.
comfortable room in the hotel itself . Only disappointment was that there was no ptoper shower and neither were there tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Despite this, the bathroom was spacious and well stocked with toiletries. We cold have telephoned for tea/coffee to be served to the room but it was not clear if this would be charged or not. Generally room was good, modern and clean.the food at our function was superb, as was the service. Breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice. Excellent value.
Short visit to Yorkshire.
Very knowledgeable bar staff, excellent selection of single malt.
Awesome bloody Mary. Fantastic breakfast, I liked the sausage and bacon so much that I searched out the local manufacturer. The bacon and sausage are produced locally (less than two miles). Draft ales produced less than two miles away. I will use the 3 Acres again and again.
