About the hotel

The Waterford Arms is situated in the sleepy village of Seaton Sluice, overlooking the picturesque Fishing Boat-filled estuary, and one of the famous Northumberland sandy white beaches. We offer you a warm, Northumbrian welcome & hospitality for a drink in the bar, beer garden overlooking the sea, a meal in our restaurant or an overnight stay in one of our en-suite guest rooms. Built in 1899, The Waterford Arms has been recently renovated to combine the charm of the late Victorian era, with the comfort and relaxed style of today.

Its beach front location, quality food and friendly service all combine to make a visit to the Waterford Arms one to remember. Home of the famous 'Waterford Whale', we have been renowned for over 25 years for our quality local seafood. That, as well as our brand new a la carte menu, mean you will be spoilt for choice if you choose to dine with us for a cosy evening meal or hearty lunch. A full English breakfast is included in all of our room rates, to set you up perfectly for a day exploring the beautiful Northumbrian coastline. The Northumberland coastal route makes The Waterford arms a perfect base for keen walkers and cyclists with lock-up facilities available for bicycles. Its the perfect location to explore the Castles of Northumberland, Alnwick & Bamburgh, National trust properties Seaton Delaval Hall and Cragside or a visit to Woodhorn Museum for the history of the local coal mines.

Bespoke meals.

The bed embraces you, I mean literally.

The food was all cooked from fresh and therefore could be adapted and requested to suit every palate and taste. The staff were very considerate and relaxed which added to the atmosphere of being able to have , whenever we wanted. We weren't bullish on that one , we simply fitted in.

Accommodation and breakfast were OKt I use hotels a lot in the region this exremely overpriced

Payment had already been taken when I arrived which does not usually happen.

My daughter and I were there to see entertainer. Have been to pub before but not stayed. Football was on TV, manageress assisted singer in setting up then at 9.45 told him he should of started and needed to finish by 10.30 so was only on 45 mins. 11pm bar closed, asked as residents could we have drink told no. Room dated and basic and definitely not worth 90 pounds.
