Would never stay again!
Outside of the building looked very tired.
Car park was full, so had to park on a side street. Room smelt damp, looked like it was from the shower. The main light in bathroom didn't work properly so had to use the small light over the mirror. The radiator was in a poor scruffy state. The room was cold. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable bed ever. The pub sign was lit up outside our bedroom window & we had the thinnest curtains ever. People were talking outside the pub till almost 1am then we could hear others talking either downstairs or next door till 2.30am. At 3am, we are considering driving the 90mins journey home. We decide to stay & have breakfast. Breakfast was OK, limited choice, had to ask for milk & orange juice to be filled up, there was no bowls left for left cereals. I would have brought some of these points up but no one bothered to ask if anything was ok. Its a handy cheap stay for the races, we paid £50 for bed & breakfast but I would not stay here a again.
Not a good experience
Evening meal was Large Haddock & Chips - I have never seen such a small "large" haddock served up.
I mentioned it to the waitress who agreed - but nothing more said. The room I was put in was directly over the bar on Quiz night. - there were other rooms free, so I can't understand why they would do this. The shower wouldn't work - was told the next morning it was broken the previous week by a "young couple" and waiting to be fixed. No mention of this when I checked in. I couldn't get a channel on the TV - so had to settle to listening to the Quiz through the ceiling. The shelf in the bathroom wasn't there - but they had left the metal brackets on the wall. When I bent down to pick something up I cut my head on one of them. The room was also at the front on a fairly noisy main road - could hear all the traffic through the windows. All in all - not good. Cannot recommend anyone to stay there. On a positive note the breakfast was good & when I complained they didn't charge me for the meal...but too little too late
