About the hotel

New ownership and a new lease of life can now be discovered at the bucolic and idyllically located Blacksmiths Arms. Bill LeGrys, Adam Ward and their affable and attentive staff bring a contemporary edge to the traditional 18th century inn; nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty beneath the Sussex Downs. At close proximity to the nearby attractions of Brighton, Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells, the Blacksmiths Arms is perfectly placed as a base to explore all that the Sussex countryside has to offer.

We offer spacious 4 star bed and breakfast accommodation, with each of the superior quality, comfortable bedrooms featuring an en suite bathroom; flat screen TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities. New refurbishment promises stylish decoration and uncompromised cleanliness. Upon renovation, the downstairs bar area takes a new lease of life, with a host of new local beers, lagers and a delectable wine list. The Blacksmiths Arms strives to provide great food for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Would stay again without a doubt

Very relaxed environment.

I normally look to stay in a Premier Inn so I know what I'm getting, but wasn't disappointed at all, and would probably opt for this over a Premier Inn in future. Friendly staff and indeed customers. Would definitely recommend it. I will almost certainly be back.

Wonderful Customer Service

Nial was a perfect host.

From greetin us in the car park, taking our case to the room, trying to book taxis for us and raking photos. Nothing was too much. Outisde the room was a fridge with fresh milk and water. Shown to where additionsl coffee sachets etc were. The room is on a main road but the windows are double glazed. The pub is old and quaint with a fabulous fire yet has a modern touch with its colour scheme. Comfortable beds and a fab breakfast. Also a good choice of real ales.
