About the hotel
Plas Uchaf is an imposing early 18th century brick house set on the lower slopes of Llwyn Bryn-Dinas providing a spectacular backdrop to the house. Plas Uchaf means "the place above" which is perfect for our house on the hill. The house is set in six acres of grounds and is arranged over three floors, all offering splendid views of rolling fields and pastures studded with mature oaks and conifers rising from the Tanat valley.
In the past Plas Uchaf has been used as a dower house, a vicarage and a residential home. Whatever your plans, whether it be a long stay to discover the beauty of Shropshire or Snowdonia, a romantic weekend, a chance to unwind with the family, a conference or a wedding, Plas Uchaf is the perfect location. We can promise you a warm welcome and attentive service whilst you relax in the comfortable and gracious surroundings of our Queen Anne house which nestles into a hillside overlooking the Tanat Valley. Guests are able to use a spacious, comfortable lounge with a cosy wood burning stove. There are plenty of books to borrow and browse through and a fully licensed bar. During the summer French windows open out onto the lawn where you can sit and drink in the view. Explore the paths that lead through different areas of the garden or play a game of croquet or tennis during the summer months. All of our premier and standard rooms offer ensuite or private bathroom, lovely views, welcome tray, TV and digital radio alarm and complementary toiletries. In addition, our spacious premier rooms have king or super king sized beds, i-pod docks, DVD players and larger ensuite facilities. A continental and full cooked breakfast is available. We can also offer evening meals with prior arrangement. If you prefer to eat out, there are many nice pubs close by.

A delightful surprise
We stayed in this hotel during the National Eisteddfod in Meifod in August 2015.
We booked it online not really knowing what to expect except that previous visitors had given the hotel very good reports. They were absolutely right. It is a delightful, a Queen Anne building set in several acres of park land with a long drive up to the building which commands exceptional views from the terrace. The welcome was warm, the room very tastefully appointed with some very nice little touches and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was also good. This hotel is to be recorded for anybody looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
