Really good choice - welcoming and relaxing
It's not always easy choosing a place sight unseen so I was relieved to see that the approach to and presentation of Portclew House was exactly as it is presented in the prior information - well kept and pleasing to look at.
I arrived about 8pm to be greeted by Sarah who quickly made me feel welcome. My single room was well appointed (my only minor niggle was that the TV remote control didn't seem to work - but this was no hardship). The basket of toiletries was very welcome especially as I realised that I had left my toothpaste at home. In-room refreshments were also well chosen and presented - and I was so pleased to see biscuits - I virtually hoovered them up. The bed was comfortable, bed linen well chosen and more than adequate. I would have liked brighter lighting to read by but I think that that is becoming a problem most everywhere. Breakfast the next morning was in the largefirst floor dining room which looks out onto the grounds. I enjoyed grapefruit, fruit juice, fresh coffee, toast and (and) a cooked breakfast. Settling up was efficient and straightforward. Yup. Good choice.
Charming Guest House
This sweet yet charming guest house gave us a three nights break, in an ideally quiet and quite scenic location.
The hosts were friendly and served an excellent breakfast to set us up for the day. Ideal for exploring the local inland and Pembrookshire coastal areas.
