About the hotel
The Malt House Bed and Breakfast is very flexible on coming and going and can accommodate early business risers as well as tourists who want to rise later. The more than two acre landscaped grounds incorporate a swimming pool and quiet places to sit and reflect. Children are very welcome and locally there are plenty of activities ranging from visiting a Dinosaur Park to Potholing and prospecting for gold in a Roman Mine.
Following its conversion from a derelict Coach House to a family home, the Coach House Cottage has now become a fully featured holiday accommodation. It has lost none of its ‘home from home’ appeal and facilities and becomes a comfortable base for young and old from which to explore the wonderful panoramic beauty of the Brecon Beacons and its charming country market towns of Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny. The cottage is set within 2. 5 acres of beautiful secluded gardens set at the foot of the Beacons. Close to the centre of the village with shop, hostelries and restaurants, all within 300 metres ensures that visitors could also elect for a holiday of peace and rest without need to partake of the myriad visitor attractions and culture of the Principality. The wildlife is fascinating; ranging from Red Kites and Kingfishers to those less popular (with farmers) badgers and foxes. The reservoir, soon to become a Local Nature Reserve, is currently a SSSI as is the River Caerfannell a tributary of the River Usk and a spawning river for Salmon and which runs some 200m alongside the grounds of The Malt House. Above all, for such a small village, the 4 pubs and restaurants are outstanding and The Malt House could not be closer to the White Hart Inn without its patrons being intrusive. The Malt House is also only a 5 minute stroll (by road or canal) from the village shop which also doubles as a post office and café.

The Malt House
Very nice house, although we stayed in the 'pool room' Breakfast ok, nothing special.
Gardens were nice just as well as we were part of it. Other guest though our accodation was a public area to wander to but it was a wooden garden office type of thing with a caravan style loo, no TV, NO Wardrobe probably more akin to glamping . You have been warned. Although proprietor seems this to be acceptable it's nowhere on his website.
