Quiet nights sleep
Situated in a quiet suburb, conveniently located for my meeting the following day in Barnsley.
Shown my room quickly. Nothing special, but comfortable, clean and quiet. Surprised to be told that breakfast was not served during the week and instead there was a “do it yourself” in the room comprising an instant porridge and breakfast bar. Adequate for my purposes travelling alone but unlikely to inspire me to return. I arrived too late to feel like eating in the bar so unable to comment , but the pint of IPA was good.
Check before you go but
I booked for a single night's stay en route to a holiday, particularly attracted by the mention of good pub food in the evening.
What I didn't know was that there was a wedding reception there that night, so no food available. But the room was comfy (even if the bins hadn't been emptied) and the staff were as helpful as it was possible to be under the circumstances
