Very kind and helpful owner, but extremely basic and run down accommodation in need of an update.
Good points; Spacious room (we were assigned a triple instead of a double which was fine!) Comfortable bed and uninterrupted night's sleep.
Very pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly owner/receptionist who provided a map and perfect directions to the Leaning Tower and other sites which he felt were worthy of visiting which was a 20-25 minute walk. 10 minute walk to Pisa Centrale railway station which connects with the local airport in just 5 minutes. Toiletries provided (although we had our own), hairdryer in the bathroom (had our own so didn't test to see if it worked), window which opened for fresh air (sadly, the view was of a building site) Mini bar in the room (we didn't use it). Bad points;
Very old fashioned bathroom in vast need of an update. Shower needs replacing. No holster to hold the shower head meaning you can only shower one handed. Poster on the wall in the bathroom warns against putting too much down the toilet in case of plumbing issues (which suggests there have been plumbing issues in the past and there are possibly plumbing issues now?) Towels were as thin as paper, but were clean and did the job. Neighbourhood not so great. Served its purpose for a very short 1-night stop over before flying home, but would not have wanted to stay longer than 1 night. For 55 euros/£47 on an advanced rate/pre-pay rate (excluding the City Tax you pay on arrival), the value for money was not great, but worryingly, was one of the cheapest rooms I could find in Pisa that didn't have completely awful reviews online, suggesting that the overall price/quality ratio in Pisa for accommodation is not the best. Would stay again, because the owner/receptionist really was a pleasant guy, just such a shame that the poor quality of the establishment overshadowed his great service.
