OK for what it is, a hostel
NOTE: the hostel is undergoing redevelopment (possibly because of all the previous terrible reviews).
This isn't an overly pretty place to stay, it's not overly quiet but it is a hostel, not a hotel.
The room was clean enough, bed clean (albeit very squeaky). Everyone was given an individual key but annoyingly there was nowhere in the room the securely lock personal items away.
Front desk were very friendly and helpful on arrival, the guy was chatty and welcoming. Leaving not so helpful and chatty but they were polite. There was a lot of dirt and dust everywhere but as stated this was due to the renovation works. Previous reviews are a tad too OTT on the moaning stakes. After all, £22 a night for a bed and communal bathroom is hardly too much to as for is it. As a last minute booking Id recommend it. The location is perfect if you're going to the arena!
I decided to get a private room for two since there were a few gentlemen acting dodgy.
I paid in full for the room in the morning, only to be told that it was double booked and the online booking was a priority over me even though they booked after!. They told me to basically pack my bags and leave!!. Lady at reception was rude and didn't have any sympathy!. A few other people were in the same position and once again no solutions found. Don't go unless you're looking at for a piss take.
