Disappointed . . .

I was in an attic room which was adequate, though the vertical blinds were in need of repair and some missing.

No hot water in the basin. I specifically requested for a breakfast at 6.15a.m., in the online booking, but only on arrival did the manager inform me that the chef didn't arrive until 7.00a.m., the time that I was due to start work. When I asked if I could partake of an uncooked breakfast, he said that wasn't possible as the dining room would not be unlocked until 7.00a.m. He refused to offer a discount for not having breakfast, saying the room price includes the breakfast. He showed no interest in suggesting any way that I could receive any of the breakfast I'd paid for other than waiting until 7.00a.m. for the chef to arrive. I'm very disappointed in the manager's attitude and that he didn't phone me to tell me that my request could not be accommodated.

Just what the Doctor ordered

We arrived at the guest house and were directed straight away to the car parking area at the back of the guest house.

The owners were most concerned (as my sister had trouble walking) because we had booked a room that was up four flights of stairs and said that if they had known they would have put us somewhere different, but we told them it would be ok, and it was. Everyone was really friendly and breakfast was great. There was plenty to eat and more if you required it. The people told us of a pub that we could have dinner and entertainment on the Saturday evening and also book for carvery on Sunday. Everything was lovely. The weather was not as bad as promised either. Would definitely book to go again. Thank you all for your hospitality and help.
