The Royal Hotel Cardiff boasts one of the best city centre locations within Wales' Capital. It is a Grade II Listed Victorian building in Italianate Style built in 1866 and is Cardiff's oldest hotel. The 60 bedrooms in this urban retreat are of a contemporary style with the latest technology which includes Air Conditioning, 37-42 inch HD TV's, in room safe and free Wi-Fi which is available throughout the Hotel. Relax and unwind in Fitz's bar with our great selection of light meals, snacks and sample our made to order cocktails.

Located on the second floor above the hustle and bustle of the vibrant capital city, The hotel is situated at the junction of St Mary Street, Wood Street and Westgate Street, with entrances on both St Mary Street and Westgate Street. The closest Hotel to the Millennium Stadium gates, many of our rooms overlook the iconic building, home to major international sporting events and concerts.

Breakfast is served most mornings in the famous Oak Panelled Scott Room which can seat up to 130 guests and is an ideal wedding and function venue. It was in this room that Captain Robert Falcon Scott held his farewell dinner prior to his fateful expedition to the Antarctic in 1910.

Sat Nav Instructions
If using Sat Nav please enter our Westgate Street postcode CF10 1TL (The hotel postcode CF10 1DW refers to the front of the hotel on St Mary Street, which is pedestrianised), there is a set down point outside of the hotel entrance in Westgate Street.

Car parking is available at NCP Wood Street, CF10 1EN across the road from the Hotel and costs £12 per day. Park your car in the car park, collect your ticket and validate your ticket at Reception upon departure. Payment is made directly to the Hotel.

A long term stay offer is available at NCP Wood Street which costs £25 per week, this needs to be paid for directly at the Car Park. Upon collecting your ticket, you need to put this into the payment machine and select "long term stay offer".

Alternative parking is available at the NCP car park on Quay Street, accessed by Westgate Street, CF10 1DZ (no special discount and costs £18.00 per day) or the Cardiff Arms Park, CF10 1JA (costs £10 per day).

Weekend road-update
During busy weekends the city closes some of the roads into the centre, this can make navigating into the city for those volunteering to map read very tricky, please follow the diversion signs and contact the hotel for the latest information on road closures prior to travelling.

Cardiff Central Station
The Royal Hotel Cardiff is approximately 100 metres from Cardiff Central Station. Exit the station and walk straight through Cardiff Bus Station. You will see a large building on the right across the road, on the corner of Westgate Street and St Mary Street, with O'Neills bar on the ground floor (blue sign). The entrance to the hotel can be accessed from Westgate Street as wells as St Mary Street with black signage displaying the Hotel's logo.
