Review of Apartment
At first glance it looked good, everything that was needed.
When we came in it felt cold so we put heaters on. The heater situated in the hallway didn't work and the smoke alarm was bleeping. When we went to bed the double bed was very uncomfortable and every time I turned I could feel the springs apparently. My son said it was the same for him and my daughter in law in the single beds. Everything else was fine.
Main double bed was on the brink of collapse - the headboard was leading forward at a 45 degree angle, the base was separated and not below the mattress.
It prevented anyone from sleeping in it. Bathroom door did not have a lock on it. Toilet roll holder was broken and off the wall. Towel rail was not strong enough to hold a towel and collapsed when any weight was applied. Iron burns on the carpet. More than one key should be available for large groups of people. Code lock on flat door did not work - had to rely on key to lock the door, inconvenient when members of the group were coming back at different times.
Close to airport.
30-35 minute walk to murrayfield. 2 bed apartment plenty of space for 4, but 6 would be a push using sofa bed. For the price it's good. could be cleaner, but still ok for short stay
Not suitable for families.
The only things which where a selling point to this accommodation was the staff -timely and friendly responses to emails, the cleaning lady was fantastic and very helpful as she managed to source a plug for the bath for us because it was missing (shower head was also damaged, but staff informed me before hand) .
The location was fantastic.
There was iron burns on the carpets, bare wires hanging from intercom (we had a 4 year old with us, I did not find this acceptable). The bedrooms where small but clean. The living room/ kitchen was not up to standard. We had to open all windows before boiling a kettle because it set all the fire alarms off because it was too small. The sofa was very uncomfortable we opted for the wooden chairs instead. The iron could not be used (burnt carpet).
Clean and comfortable. Excellent value. Highly recommended
good for purpose
The appartment was good.
Good value for money. Nice and handy for bus service. Excellent Chinese takeaway near by. Handy for shops. Just one complaint was we had a peeping tom looking through the kitchen window at 2 0 clock in the morning, so make sure the doors are locked. But other than that everything ok.
Pleasantly surprised seeing the accommodation
The apartment was quite spacious for the 5 of us.
It had all the amenities such as utensils, cook wares, etc. It was a fully furnished apartment and nicely maintained.
tips to improve:
- Could not find the dustbin bags
- Should stock the bathrooms with bath gels, soaps, shampoo, moisturisers etc
no one around to check you in, key left in a safe that we had to get a code for to gain access.
The apartment could do with a clean up, bathroom in need of some TLC just to make things work, toilet would not fill or flush correctly, shower would only work if no one else was running water, paint peeling and walls marked.
The Pillows were very old and smelly.
The put-u up bed frame was broken. The bedroom was extremely stuffy with no window.
Expected more at that price
I have used serviced apartments a lot recently and this one was on the lower end of my ratings.
Pictures of the accommodation make it difficult to gauge the size, you would struggle to get 4 people in that space. my main disappointment with my stay and was the budget make out of the apartment. More student digs than serviced apartments. You can get more for your money a few short miles closer to the city centre.
