Better Places to stay for similar money
Freezing cold, not heated properly.
Bathroom and sink not cleaned from last person in the room
Not great but not expensive, check in staff not terribly welcoming, room adequately comfortable and clean, the cooked breakfast cost extra but was good and the waitress cheery.
The hotel was a taxi ride away from Princess street, about £10 in a taxi, We were totally surprised at how lovely the hotel was as we only paid £20 each (group of 10) the rooms were big and spacious, clean and tidy.
Well worth it!!
Would not stop again.
Room very small and I know it was a budget hotel but stayed in far better for the price
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
I booked this hotel for a couple of days away for myself my wife and Grandson of 10 months as it was described as family friendly.
Nothing could have been further from the truth. Stag party arrived just after we had checked in. We were put in room 4 which had an adjoining door to room 7 we had to go to reception and request that they spoke to the occupants of room 7 as the noise was unbearable the door was so ill fitting that it provided no soundproofing at all.the location of room 4 is at the head of the main staircase accessing the 1st floor so we had all the foot traffic and the noise from this but to make matters worse as the night went on the other guests noise increased and continued through to around 3 am keeping us awake until then. The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired as the carpets were all stained and between the beds didn't look as if they had been cleaned in weeks. The travel cot supplied came with a folded duvet as the base sheet which was heavily stained meaning we had to remove this fortunately we had taken plenty of bedding of our own. Between the beds there was a 240 volt cable running on the skirting board that had obviously Ben extended by someone with no electrical safety knowledge as it was connected via plastic jointing strips and wrapped in a non insulated tape which is a serious breach of the electrical regulations. We were supposed to stay 2 night but left 1st thing on the Saturday morning. I was charged full price for the 2 night stay and advised to contact the hotels reservations manager to discuss my shortened stay with a view to receiving a refund.Needless to say after 2 unanswered e mails I have now given up on any customer care response. This establishment would struggle to warrant a 2 star rating.
Great location and bright hotel.
But the shower room in our requires upgrading + secondary glazing from the noise of the busy street.
The room was just fine for the 3 adults.Shower was fine but decor needs refreshing, regrouting the tiles would probably heip.
The city centre was only a short bus ride, plenty of buses. The Cameron Toll shopping centre was walking distance away with a good variety of shops.
I found the staff to be very polite and helpful.
My room was perfectly adequate for my needs. The location is ideal for a quick bus journey into the centre of town.
The only negative thing I would comment on is that my room was rather cold on arrival, the radiator in the room not having been turned on.It was rather cold on my return that night but upon raising it with the staff it was resolved on both occasions straight away. In fairness it should be noted that it's an old building in a conservation area so they are heavily restricted on changes allowed
Weekend stay for student couple
An excellent stay was had by us both, the rooms were clean, and fairly spacious, plenty of room for two.
We both received pleasant nights sleep as the beds were well kept and comfortable. Staff were perfectly accommodating and we had no problems whatsoever when staying at this hotel. Was a good value stay.
