Room was clean with a touch of luxury The only thing I did not like was that they took a £125 from our debit card on arrival to cover services we had not yet used. This was refunded the next day I would think this should be taken at the end of your stay as at other hotels of similar or better quality. This would put me of staying here again.
excellent hotel, very clean, good service, great location in Leith, lots of lovely restaurants and bars around the area
This hotel is perfect for couples, Just the right distance from Edinburgh centre.
The rooms were a great size and the service was perfect. Reception staff were very friendly and always happy to help. The price was on point for what you were getting. Breakfast was made to order which was great, very good selection. Overall i would give this hotel 9/10 and would defiantly stay there again.
Just a wee bit tired
We have stayed here on a number of occasions and always found it a great hotel.
This time we stayed in a different section with a room facing the front. The room was dusty, which could be seen when the natural light was in room. The room cleaner was not as good as previous visits and the bathroom was a bit tired. Overall this is a great hotel and we love staying there. It's fun and funky and we really like it. It's convenient for the City and the local Taxi service is prompt & very friendly.
Relaxed and fun
we have stayed here on numerous occasions and it never disappoints.
This time our room was next to a noisy boiler vent which didn't help sleep. We mentioned this to the staff, who were very helpful and said we could have been moved and at our next stay in a fee weeks time they would ensure that we got an upgrade. This is a great hotel ideally situated. Staff are friendly and the hotel is quirky . I am aware it's not to everyone's taste but we love it!.
Clean and spacious with the luxury you can expect from Malmaison.
Great hotel would stay again
A little bit of Luxury
Thought the whole place had what I would call a contemporary retro feel, very comfortable and cosy yet modern.
Great base to explore Edinburgh from, only 15 minutes from centre by bus yet feels like you are a million miles from the hustle and bustle of Princess street. Lots of great walks and bars round the dock area. Oh and the Breakfasts are amazing, Can't wait to stay at Malmaison again.
Booked to stay for wives birthday , forgetting that this was the last working Friday before Christmas and loads of works parties in !.
However this was dealt with excellently by staff and did not in any way spoil our stay.
Great hotel, warm welcome
Malamaison is a great hotel which for it's location on the Edinburgh shore is reasonably priced.
The rooms are a great size and stylishly decorated. Beds are super comfy and the bathrooms are large. Staff are helpful and welcoming.
My recommendations would be to develop the food menu in the bar as what is on offer is a little tired. If you don't want to eat in the restaurant, it would be good to have a slightly more varied option of food in the bar other than burgers and sandwiches.
