Reviews - Allgirlz (female only hostel)

4Self Classified Hostel Ratings explained
30a, Dublin Street , Edinburgh, EH36NN
Welcome to ALLGIRLZ HOSTEL!

ALLGIRLZ is a beautiful hostel in Edinburgh that has been put together JUST FOR GIRLS. It is the only female-only hostel in Edinburgh and one of few in the world.

Our hostel is simple but sweet, and is open to travellers from near and far. It is the smallest hostel in Edinburgh with just 18 beds, making for a cosy and intimate atmosphere. Many of our guests are travelling alone - your friends might think you're crazy but we don't! So it is very easy to meet other independent but like-minded people to chat and hang out with.

It offers a perfect base for visiting Edinburgh and its surrounds with great transport connections: 2 minutes walk to St Andrew's Square tram stop and St Andrew's Bus Station, 10 minutes walk to Edinburgh's main train station, Waverley. 5 minutes from Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping hub.

SMALL AND FRIENDY, SAFE AND SECURE.

We have a communal kitchen where you can cook up a storm and sit back and enjoy your meal or simply relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine and enjoy the company of our other female travellers from all over the world.

The hostel is decorated with works of art from the four corners of the globe. Each piece has its own wee story of where it was bartered for and brought back to Edinburgh, piece by piece over the years . Think India, Thailand, Egypt, Patagonia... If you have a wanderlust for travel prepare to be inspired.

We have a TV room with hundreds of movies for you to watch. There is also an internet terminal which is free for guests use. Wifi is also complimentary.

The price includes a free buffet breakfast of cereals, fruit juice, freshly made homemade bread, tea and coffee.

Of course, our bathrooms are clean and modern with lots of free girly products, hairdryers, mirrors etc.

Come and try a hostel for girls... the boy's don't know what they're missing!

Never got to stay at the hostel due to a laterooms fault but great communication from them
When laterooms had over booked and failed to contact me to inform me that I would not be able to stay at this hostel, Allgirlz contacted me directly to inform me, saving me from turning up in an unfamiliar city with nowhere to stay during an expensive festival season.

Highly recommend!
I didn't know what to expect when I stumbled upon Allgirlz hostel, but I was delighted by my time there. I would have stayed longer if I could. The owner Kylie is wonderful and very knowledgeable. She serves an excellent free breakfast!
The hostel is totally set up for women, has everything you could need. Because it is very small, it gives you a great sense of community!
The rooms are quite small and the lockers are loud (beeping), but I would stay at Allgirlz again in a moment.

Excellent. Extremely clean, my friend and i felt very comfortable. Everything in its place, like utensils, cabinets labeled with where cups, plates are to supposed to be. Bathroom so clean. Aylie, the lady in charged was extremely helpful. Such a good environment, cozy, beautiful home. Rooms were immaculate, night lights on each bunk bed.

Thanks so much, Rachel.
A lovely little space not far from the main station, pretty hidden and in a lovely area. Very pleased that i decided to stay here, outstanding value for money and very relaxed environment. The common room was a bit noisy one night and there isn't really a space you can go off and stay on your own in to concentrate, I ended up sitting on the stairs listening to white noise through my headphones so i could focus on an essay that was due for an interview the next day :D. There is also no wifi in the bedroom but I didn't really mind. Rachel was a charming host and I felt very comfortable/at home. Even the beds and pillows were comfortable, not the noisy spirally things you usually get in hostels this cheap. Thanks again, I'll be back !
