1Visit Scotland Assessed Bed and Breakfast Ratings explained
70 South Trinity Road, , , Edinburgh, EH5 3NX
The Clark Family are ready to welcome you to their three storey Victorian terraced home. We offer room only and bed and breakfast rates in our five bedrooms, 3 en-suite and 2 which share a bathroom. We are 1.5 miles from the bus and train station and 8 miles from the airport and are well served by buses. We do not have 24 hour check-in, if you want to arrive before 5pm or after 10pm we cannot guarantee this so please enquire, there is normally no problem at weekends and during Scottish school holidays.

Children are welcome, a cot and highchair can be provided for infants. We are located in a residential area of North Edinburgh, midway between the Royal Botanical Gardens and the River Forth. We have limited private parking, however there are no on-street charges. There is a payphone on the ground floor, a hairdryer and ironing facilities are available upon request. Pets are welcome by arrangement.

For shopping the city centre is ideal: Princes Street houses a great many stores including Jenners, the oldest independent department store in the world, and the St. James Centre and Princes Mall provide even more shops. There are other shopping opportunities away from the city centre however - Ocean Terminal is a 20 minute walk from us, or the Gyle Shopping centre a 30 minute bus ride (No. 21).

There are many bus tours you can use, including the Britannia Tour, City Sightseeing Tour, Edinburgh Tour and Mac Tours City Tour, all of which depart from Waverly Bridge. If you enjoy sight seeing then why not take a trip to Edinburgh Castle and get a magnificent view of half of Edinburgh from the battlements? Or to see the whole city visit Holyrood Park and climb Arthur's Seat. You could also visit Edinburgh Zoo.

A friendly Scottish hideaway close to the city centre
The family that run Falcon Crest are warm and welcoming, making sure you have everything you need. The room was warm and pleasant, and the location made it simple to hop on one of the regular buses to Edinburgh city centre (buses run til late, alternatively a taxi costs about £6). Full marks and thank you for a great stay!

Lovely 'old style' Guest House
In the days of impersonal corporate hotel chains what a lovely change it was to stay in a traditional guest house – took me back to my childhood. The room was cosy, but had everything you could possibly need for an overnight stay; the staff were also very helpful. Thank you for making my work trip even more memorable.

a fine rest at Fakcon Crest
a lovely wee pkace to stay in the city, which is just a short bus ride away from the heart of the city.
A very friendly welcome in a lovely wee pocket of tranquil peacefulness, but also just a moment away to easily enjoy everything that Edinburgh has to offer.

Nightmare Stay
There are too many criticisms to include here but hare are a few problems bed was way too hard to allow much sleep, the towels were ancient and painful to use. the t.v. difficult to use (got one channel) the water in the 1950's shower never got hot and it wasn't cheap to stay there. Had to pay up front and to add insult to injury no breakfast.

ManagementResponse

Very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay and disappointed we did not have an opportunity to check the TV and shower worked and explain how to use them if you were having difficulties (probably it was the anti scald cut out on the shower which meant you had cold water). The booking was an en-suite double, room only and so more expensive for 1 person than if a single room had been available however I am confused about you paying "up front" as no money was charged to your card until after you arrived and then only with your permission. Regarding the "hard" bed many people prefer a firm bed however a mattress topper is available on request.
