Really hated every part of it.
Hot water tap didn't work, room dirty and in bad repair (nothing like the photo) and blood on the sheets. Stay elsewhere!!!!
Guards Hotel Edinburgh
Straight forward check in, advised that there was a problem with the shower but that it was still usable.
Room was comfortable and clean with tea and coffee available. limited channels on tv but we had wifi. Heating in room could do with being looked at, we had it to the max and it only took the edge of what was a chilly day. Breakfast was excellent, chap doing breakfasts couldn't do enough. all in all a pleasant stay and I would use the hotel again.
hotel was nothing like the pictures or description given was dirty and tired so bad we couldnt stay big disappointment ruined my weekend

The Gaurds hotel well situated at Haymarket station ,straight across road ,staff very polite and friendly .
Room nice clean ours was on ground floor no view , nice and quite ,wet room shower really good .Lovely clean bedding you could smell the washing powder ,very well ironed duvets and pillow cases top marks for this . A very well organised tea and coffee tray in the room ,looked good neat and very clean good brands After a hard day's shopping and sight seeing just what we needed We had a wee drink in the hotel bar , again staff very friendly and helpful and polite, the drink was a good price ,wee had a nice wee night .I had a good night's sleep ,hotel not fancy ,but home from home .The breakfast well cooked and tasty again staff polite and helpful took time to chat .We both would use the guards Hotel again .
We stayed for 2 nights in the bridal suite, the room was excellent, old fashioned style room but with a beautiful modern bathroom, tons of free space with a spot on view from the window.
The location is perfect, away from the centre enough to be quiet but only a short walk to all the main areas, I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Edinburgh.
late booking disappointed
this was one of the few hotels available that weekend, paid what l felt too much for the quality of the room offered.
Superior room, was the description not what l found, clean and tidy yes. Small and not the best facilities. Would l book again. Not that the price charged, almost double what l have paid for much better rooms elsewhere.
Guards Hotel, Edinburgh
This was my first stay at the Guards Hotel in Edinburgh.
I found my room to be basic but clean and tidy and for the money I paid it was a bargain compared to other hotels in Edinburgh. The staff were very friendly and helpful, excellent service.
Very welcoming and well equipped - excellent service.
The room, while quite small and without windows, was very well equipped, clean and cosy.
The bed was extremely comfortable, the the en suite bath/shower room was excellent and the free wi-fi was pretty nippy, which is always excellent. Very good service and to a great standard - excellent value for money. Definitely recommended for young travellers looking for somewhere conveniently situated for a good price!
I stayed at The Guards Hotel for one night at the end of August 2014.
When I booked a single room voa late rooms and it did not state that the single room would either have no window or no bathroom in the room. I read some reviews after booking stating this. I contacted the hotel who were very helpful and put me in a double room for the same price as a single, very helpful. Good value for money and an adequate room for a nights stay. Thank you
