Unnsuitable accommodation for travellers.
My son and I visited this hotel last weekend.
The accommodation is only suitable for contractors who will only be there Monday to Friday. The rooms are very basic with minimal comfort, for example no spare loo rolls despite being booked in for 4 nights. Friday night we visited family and returned to chaos. There were parties being held, one of which was for an 18 year old , and the place was swarming with inebriated youngsters. There were pools of vomit in the corridors and the night staff member was attempting to hoover it up. He said that this was usual at weekends. Function rooms are free to book. Apart from this chap, no other staff appeared to be monitoring the mayhem. We went to our rooms and i was very shaken but was hopeful that this was a one of event. It was not as the Saturday night was a replay. There was noise in the corridors where bedrooms were and as the bedroom doors looked as if they had been forced in the past i was terrified. We checked out next day one day early. There was toilet paper blocking holes in the ceiling beside light switches, no reception staff available except on one occasion but there was a huge black dog in the reception area, behind a glass door, who barked and growled loudly when we passed the area. People crowded around the front door smoking. I do have some photos i took on my tablet. I have complained to you directly but received a response from the hotel.
antonine hotel falkirk
the hotel is frequently used by commercial travellers.
my room was large and bright. there was a good bath, with a large showerhead . plenty of lght from large windows . yes it was dated, but clean and the maid service was good, always clean towels etc. b i had to ask for a hairdryer, which was given to meby the receptiionist. the location has a shopping mall next to it. and is 8 or 9 minutes from the railway station, there is another railway ststion falkirk high which is a 20 minute walk but has a direct line to glasgow queen street. the hotel was quiet, even when there were parties in the convention rooms they did not bother me. there was a nice flat screen tv in the room with plenty of choice of channels. the staff were always pleasant and helpful. i liked it tnere.
