Basic but a bit overpriced
We would rate this 2-star.
It's student accommodation, basic and clean. The food is student food too - basic but you can have as much as you can eat. There were a lot of groups of youth there, and I guess they get a good deal on the price. It was fine for what we needed, ie one night basic accommodation, it is convenient for the city, offers parking, and there is a cafe/bar and shop on the campus. The only dissatisfaction I would have is with the price, which I would say was 30-40% more than it merited. However, this is Edinburgh in the summer, so someplace that would be £50 somewhere else is £77 here. We would stay here again, simply because reasonable priced accommodation that includes parking is very hard to find in Edinburgh.
