Great Festival Fringe stay
I'd wanted to visit the Fringe and the tattoo but all EDI hotels were expensive or fully booked - even the 'cheap' ones.
I stayed 3 nights at Pollock Halls and the only downsides were the cost at 50 GBP per night (still half the price of even the cheapest hotel), the early wake up required to vacate the room by 9am for breakfast (don't even think about going later...) and the shower tray looked dated / like it needed some bleach. Otherwise the breakfast was very good, checkin staff were very helpful and the location 2 miles from the Royal Mile was ideal, with a brisk walk required after a 'Fringe binge' . The location is on the edge of Holyrood Park and if you have time, a walk round Salisbury Crags (ask staff) is recommended for the fantastic views of this stunning city. I'd stay again.
Excellent value for all your needs
I had a very enjoyable stay at Pollock Halls and even managed to get a parking space thrown in.
Staff helpful. Food first rate in terms of quality and quantity. Room adequate and the arran aromatics soap was a lovely surprise. Pleased to have tea making facilities in the room. Bus stop nearby. I would recommend this accommodation.
