One night in Edinburgh
I paid £85 for a single room on a Saturday in August in Edinburgh city centre.
This turned out to be great value for money. The room transpired to be a double room at the top of hotel. Yes, there are stairs but that was not a problem. The room was very quiet and spotless. The shower wasn't very good with the water coming out as not much more than a trickle. So, in such circumstances I took a bath. The hotel is within a couple of minutes walk of the city centre but in a relatively quiet area. Breakfast is continental but so plentiful for there to be no complaints. The staff were as friendly and welcoming as could be expected, with particular praise for the young American lady on reception.
Payed 179 for one night ended up 3 floors up to an attic room not very big.
When I booked through laterooms pictures of rooms looked grand with leather sofas in large rooms if I'd have known I was paying 179 for an attic room would not have booked it. told staff wasnt happy they said bigger rooms are dearer,in that case would be cheaper going abroad for weekend, one nite in attic 179 thats what they should advertise .. pure rip off
