About the hotel

The Goblin Ha' Hotel is named after an underground chamber in the nearby ruin of Yester Castle. It has seven extremely comfortable rooms, all of which are en suite. All have TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and hair dryers.

The atmosphere in this family run hotel is very friendly and informal, and the excellent and imaginative food is all prepared on the premises from local fresh produce where possible. The bars are cosy and inviting, and serve a wide range of drinks. Behind the hotel there is a patio and garden, all of which contribute to the establishment's unique ambience. Whether you're looking for a peaceful break, outdoor activities or you'd like to explore the city of Edinburgh, the Goblin Ha' Hotel is for you. We accept all major credit and debit cards, excluding Diners Club and American Express.

Brilliant Country Inn

We unfortunately had to change the dates of our booking very late and ended up in a room they keep for people stopping overnight.

The room and bed were great even if the former was on the smaller size. The two main drawnbacks were the extractor fan from the kitchen outside our room and the minute wash-hand basin. Food was very good both in variety and price range served by wonderful waiters and waitresses all led by a brilliant Greek waiter who made everyone feel the most important person in the room. Pudding chef usually brought out our puddings and the Chocolate fudge cake was something to die for. The success of Goblin Ha is obvious by the vast number of tables, usually fully occupied, and this in a village inn whose nearest conurbation is over four miles away and Edinburgh somewhat further.

friendly staff. Nice traditional pub

Nice pub, with a friendly atmosphere.

Very welcoming staff behind the bar and a good quality meal in the evening. Only slightly disappointed by how greasy the full Scottish breakfast was, although the grilled kippers that we had in the second morning were really tasty. would definitely recommend to others traveling to the area.
