About the hotel

West End Apartments is a family business and one of the pioneers of quality self-catering accommodation in Edinburgh. Since opening in 1982, we have built up an enviable reputation with discerning visitors worldwide, many of whom return year after year. These spacious and stylish apartments form part of an elegant Victorian town house located in Edinburgh's World Heritage Site, less than a ten minute walk from Princes Street.

West End Apartments offers the perfect base for holidays or business and is ideally located in Edinburgh's World Heritage Site close to a variety of local amenities and attractions. Nearby (less than 0. 5 mile) is a Waitrose supermarket, whilst a short walk down the hill is Stockbridge, one of the city's original villages, which has many excellent small shops offering fresh produce, a delicatessen, post office, library, public swimming pool and a good variety of restaurants, contemporary wine bars and traditional Scottish pubs. The City Centre is reached by a short stroll over Thomas Telford's Dean Bridge spanning the Water of Leith, with the historic Dean Village in the valley to the west and the private wooded Dean Gardens to the east, access to which is available to guests. As befits a capital city, Edinburgh has an abundance of attractions - historical, architectural, cultural, educational, scenic and sporting. Home of the International Festival there are many places of interest; within a few minutes walk are the The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and the Dean Gallery with examples of Scottish and European sculpture and art - both galleries have excellent cafeteria / coffee shops. To the north, by way of Stockbridge, the Water of Leith and Inverleith Park is the world renowned, Royal Botanic Garden. Frequent bus services operate to all areas just a minute's walk away providing easy access to the Royal Yacht Britannia, The National Museum of Scotland, the Palace of Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament

A Real Gem! A proper Home from Home!

A very warm and friendly welcome from the owner.

A perfectly stocked fridge and welcome basket, thank you. The accommodation really is first class, spotlessly clean and very user-friendly, such a comfortable bed and a bathroom you could dance in. Living/dining/kitchen very spacious too. TV and radio to suit any taste. Convenient for Princes Street and the rest of the city centre, all within easy walking distance. Secure and secluded parking in the rear of the property was an essential requirement for us. Hardly moved the car at all during our visit. Would recommend without hesitation and we'll certainly come back. Thank you so much.

Excellent value for a family

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband, parents and 2 year old.

Very spacious accomodation, maintained to a high standard. Even room for when family with 2 kids came to visit for an hour. The manager Bryan was very helpful.
