Disappointing stay at County Hotel Dalkeith

Arrived to be told there was no restaurant facilities - chef not available.

This extended into both nights of my stay - they had a chef available for breakfast so why not evening meals. Room was shabby and in need of modernisation. Shower room had tiles missing through water damage. Noise transmission from room to room was high and intrusive.

Nice and clean but very noisy

For the money I paid, I can't complain about the deal.

It was a clean hotel and the staff were lovely. The only grumble I have really is the noise. I checked into this hotel very late at around 3AM, and I stayed in the family room which is above the bar. There were people in the bar downstairs who made a lot of noise until around 5PM, I had to use my ear plugs to get some sleep. Then I was back up at 8PM when the music was turned on for breakfast. Other than that, the stay was fine.
