Lovely property

I was visiting from NY so not familiar with the geography.

I had a hard time finding it with the GPS in the rental car as there's no real street address, so be sure to map it out if you're driving.

Coming up on the property, the grounds are lovely. Nice countryside views, grass is neatly kept. Inside, the castle is old as you would expect...the floors are creaky, wood is old, but the interior design is grand and royal. You do feel like royalty walking around the grand ballrooms, library bar, canopy above the king size bed, high ceilings, large tartan curtains.

We only stayed one night so we couldn't take much advantage of the amenities, but the Dungeon restaurant is quite an experience. You start in the library bar where the staff takes your food order in stay for a drink and then are taken down to the Dungeon when your food is ready. The food is exquisite...some of the best we had while we were in Scotland. Truly fine dining.

Staff is friendly and nice. As we are from the US, we actually found that all Scottish are friendly, so for us, they were more friendly that what we're used to. For other Scots, maybe they're just normal. They say that the castle is haunted. My gf and I are not sure if we had a supernatural experience or not...most likely our imagination getting the best of us.... But if you take this part of the stay out of the equation, we would stay here again to experience the spa.

Spa break

Had a lovely relaxing stay would definitely return and recommend.

Accommodation lovely. Food delicious. Customer service excellent. A little let down no WiFi cover in castle lodge or mobile phone signal. Enjoyed treatments at spa which were fantastic. Spa however requires upgrade which we were advised was scheduled. Shame no larger swimming pool.
