Friendly genuine staff that couldn't give more
Booked this hotel over other star ratings in the same area based on the reviews here.
The hotel didn't disappoint at all. Parking was a breeze, staff friendly and couldn't do more for us.
Easy pleasant stay and great value for money being only 5 mins walk from a Zone 2 tube station.
Alright for the price
The room was clean and there was a comfortable double bed...
There was little privacy as there were gaps around the door that let all sound in/out, which was slightly off putting. The main reason I haven't marked this particularly high is because when we got in at 1:30am, the room really smelt of seafood because of the downstairs seafood restaurant... It wasn't a great aroma to fall asleep to.
Great value, nice place.
Excellent place to stay for one night maybe two if you are on a short trip.
Is bed and breakfast style. The food was good in the breakfast and cant complain about it. The costumer service is friendly. Really enjoyed it. Bathrooms are shared between each floor, each floor has got 3 or 4 rooms. Toilets are very clean and so the bedrooms. The place was surprisingly quiet and except for a few sirens overnight there was barely no noise at all. Recommend.
PAID ONCE AND HAD SECOND FEE RINGFENCED FOR A WEEK!!
Being a very regular, all I want is an easy time at the end of a hard day; this I didn't get.
I was asked to pay on arrival (debit card) and once in my room checked my bank account online, only to find the fee had been taken TWICE. I spoke to the (apparent) owner who appeared to know nothing about the second payment. I was hungry and invited to eat; however, the stench of cooking oil stank my room out in the attic, enough of a warning to kill my hunger outright. The night was ruined by noisy revellers somewhere outside my room, until 02:00. The bed was comfortable but bathroom sink had no plug; was a small handbasin and along with the grotty shower was a sobering sight for me, let alone sickly party a casualties with a hangover. The breakfast choice was good but having taken an age to arrive, had to be mostly left as my lift arrived twenty minutes after arriving and placing my order for cheese and ham omelette. In fairness, I imagine, having apparently paid twice made me feel very negative and then nothing happened to change me into a positively minded guest.
Cheap, clean, comfortable, friendly staff and a twenty minute walk from the gig at the Forum I was going to.
Perfect, would happily stay here again
The Castle Bar
This was just what we wanted at short notice friendly atmosphere especially Boris the barman an most of all great value would highly recommend and will be staying there again no doubt
Very Pleasant stay
An extremely friendly hotel with good sized clean rooms.
They also went well out of their way to meet my parking requirements. Would not hesitate staying again.
Good Value - Recommended
Castle Bar B&B has a reasonably good location between Camden & Archway Tube Stations and also bus stops outside.
A good choice of Breakfast served between 8ish -10.30 Rooms are decent enough for a short stay with tv, fridge and wifi in room. Shared bathroom was kept clean. It has a small but lively pub bar but this does quieten down by 11pm. Slight mistake on check in with wrong room allocation requiring me to swap rooms 2 hours later. However, overall a great place for a short stay. The owners and staff were very nice and helpful. I'll stay there again when next in North London.
The location looked promising but I didn't know the area.
I booked a double room but it was two singles, right at the top of several flights of stairs with a shared bathroom. The furniture was ok but dated and the place itself was a bit run down. I'm glad I didn't pay the full price for the accommodation. The breakfast in the bar was good.
Lovely people, fantastic value for money
Stayed in The Castle Bar with a couple friends over new years.
lovely welcome from the couple who own the hotel and then showed us to our room. The room is was very clean, beds are comfy too. There are 2/3 rooms on each floor of the hotel with a bathroom per floor. Bathroom is very well kept and the shower was good as well. We unfortunately were never awake for breakfast but I'd assume that was good as well. Owners even left us a little news years present as well outside our door. You can come and go at anytime you please which was very useful for us.
If you're looking for a hotel which is great value for money then look no further. We knew we would only be in the hotel to sleep and have a shower so this was perfect. Compared to other places in London it's stupidly good value. A 5 minute walk from the tube station to the hotel and easy to get to from London Paddington and Kings Cross station.
