Pleasant, clean, good location
Stayed here for a quick overnight jaunt.
Great location just a few mins from kings cross.Clean, pleasant room. Perfectly happy. reasonable breakfast downstairs. Cofee (fliter) remarkably good.
Good value for money, convenient location
A decent little hotel, close to Euston & St Pancras stations.
My single room was a bit cramped but with an en-suite shower room was adequate for a one night stay. The bed was comfortable; bed linen and towel were fresh and clean. Breakfast was reasonable. Customer service (reception and breakfast room) was good. If you expect 5* you'll be disappointed. If you accept this is a vfm B&B, close to transport links, you'll be satisfied.
Leigh House Hotel
Friendly & helpful but expensive for a small, tired and noisy hotel with no heating
Courteous service and safe for solo lady visitors
The gentleman at the front desk was courteous and very helpful.
My room was on the 2nd floor at the back with very little noise. No lift. All clean if a little dated. The hot shower water took at least 5 minutes to come through. If not persistent you might think there was no hot water.
Lots of eateries close by and tube station of Russel Square and Kings Cross within easy walking distance. Felt safe as a single lady. Rest of hotel decor could do with updating to enhance the very good service.
Lovely hotel, very helpful staff.
Had booked a single room which was upgraded to a double when I arrived at no extra cost. Room was lovely and had been cleaned to a very high standard. All the staff I met were very helpful and polite. In a great location, I walked everywhere, didn't need to use local transport at all. Will definitely stay there again.
The clanging gates of hell....
Needed somewhere to SLEEP between a long Eurostar journey and onwards to home, but did not choose wisely.
Firstly it isn't even on Leigh Street, it's just around the corner, which threw my cabbie into a whirlpool of (costly) confusion. It was a (spotlessly clean) tiny room with a view of a wall and some railings but it was night so I didn't care. There was no lamp, plug socket or lightswitch by the bed so if you wanted to read yourself asleep you'd be getting up again to switch the lights off. Luckily I was so tired I did drop off, despite the large gap around my door spilling what felt like a million megawatts of light into my room from the halllway outside. (maybe put a curtain up at the door or even some of the spongey insulation tape around the inside of the door to block some light?). I was shocked awake at 4.04 am by a noise that can only be described as the gates of hell opening and closing repeatedly...Is that a tube underneath me. No it's far too early for that. That continued for about fifteen minutes, and I think I may have drifted back off to sleep for half an hour until somebody somewhere else in the building decided to have a shower which again seemed to shake the whole building, and the sound of a cascading waterfall continued for the rest of the morning. 'Why are all of these people up and showering so early?' I wondered. I found out when I decided to give up and take my own shower at quarter past six...there was no hot water left. I had a good wash instead, and made a coffee whilst awaiting my included breakfast (I knew it was definintely happening as the smell of an old frying pan full of oil was filling my room from about seven am onwards). The breakfast room was perfectly pleasant, had a good selection of juices and continental style goods, and I was asked if I wanted a cooked breakfast as soon as I entered so things started to look up. Finally. I ate my breakfast and left. Every staff member that I came into contact with was very friendly and helpful, and as I said earlier my room was clean, but if you are looking for somewhere to actually sleep you might want to give it a wide berth.
Good location good value
Very good and clean room.
Good location and value for money. Just needed a night before an early start for work nearby. The room was warm enough, but a bit breezy near the window, the sash window lets in a bit too much cold air.
Perfect overnight stop
If you only need somewhere to lay your head that's value for money then Leigh House Hotel was ideal.
I just needed to get some sleep to avoid a red-eye flight the next day, have a shower and a good breakfast. Really liked it - no fuss, a good breakfast, clean and pleasant - and the location for ideal for my needs.
Decent room for the price
Overall the hotel was decent quality and the stay was comfortable.
The room was quite small (just about enough room for the double bed), but for somewhere to sleep that's really all you need. The only negative was the temperature overnight. It was unfortunate that the stay was on a night where wind speed was high, which highlighted that the single glazed windows didn't quite fit properly, thus there was quite a draft. Coupled with the heating being on at full blast it was a constant shift between too hot and too cold depending on the wind. For the price though this is a great place to stay and I certainly wouldn't rule out staying here in the future, though it probably wouldn't be my first choice.
