No hot water for morning shower.
Receptionist's advice was to run hot tap on sink while running shower: didn't work. Unimpressed I wasn't offered another room to shower in, but perhaps the problem affects all rooms. The advertised photos of the room bore very little resemblance to the very dated room I was given. The fact that a cooked breakfast incurs supplementary change should be made much clearer. Also, the only coffee the hotel serves, even to those paying the supplementary charge, is instant. Overall, a very poor experience.
Get what you pay for
Room was very small and in need of decoration.
Some plywood panelling wasn't even painted and the skirting was also missing. Nets were torn and need replacing and the carpet was stained in places. Saniflow in bathroom meant you couldn't flush the loo at night. A neighbouring bar woke me at 6am on the first morning throwing bottles into a recycling bin making a terrible din. No lift, which proved a real challenge for me with my back problems. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the linen clean. Breakfast was somewhat eclectic in choice, but I didn't leave hungry and the waiting staff were friendly and helpful, as were the reception staff. As the title says, you get what you pay for and this was a very cheap stay for London prices.
