Alexandra Hotel

Hotel in need of revamp.

We could not open our curtains as we were so closely overlooked. The room had a very strong smell of damp. The one good point was it was ideally situated.

Manager saved the day

Amazing price for the location but it was obvious that we got thrown in a room no one else would have wanted because we booked through laterooms and got a good price.

Horrible room, beds were headboard to headboard and clearly the room was a single room with another bed squashed in. Dead fly was stuck to the wall and the shower fitting fell out of the wall onto my sisters head. When I went to reception to say I wasn't pleased the receptionist answered the phone as I was speaking and then waved me to the side so that he could check other pepole in. He then said the anger would come up. The manager came up, saw the state of the room and instantly moved us to a spacious clean room. He was great and really efficient. No one should ever be put in the room we were in initially. It was grotty. However, if we'd initially been put into the better room I'd have been very happy.
