Cheap last minute budget hotel
The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment inside and out and this is possibly reflected in the price.
My partner and I contacted the hotel earlier in the day to ask if luggage could be stored because we would be at the R2 festival in a day at the Hyde park at the specified check in time (1600). We were informed that this would not be a problem. We arrived at the hotel late that evening (2300) and it seemed to take an inordinate time for the sole member of staff to book a "walk in" couple. We asked if we could use the bathroom facilites situated on the next floor below and my partner returned a few minutes later because the bathroom lights seemed to have been isolated and therefore she had to use a torch to light her way. Our room situated on the top floor was one of the newly re-furbished ones and was clean and tidy with a newly fitted bathroom. The room was on the small size given as it was described as a superior double plus a single. I would hate to imagine how much smaller a standard double room would be. The continental breakfast was adequate although the meat and cheese selection was of the processed variety. Overall though no major complaints given that it was a budget hotel.

Cheap hotel. Cheap furnishings and cheap customer service.
