Spring half term 2014
Our one bed apartment was a good size with enough wardrobe space for 4.
A safe was available for a small fee. The bathroom was small but adequate and clean with a shower over the bath and a bidet. We had a large patio, with 2 loungers, table and 4 chairs with parasol. Unfortunately, it was not warm enough to sit out, due to the weak sun and wind. Maid service was twice in the week. Kitchen was well-equipped with complimentary basic condiments and a bottle of water. Bizarrely, the only drawer (utensils ) was in the entrance-way. The resort was as in the pictures and was well-maintained, and the 2 outdoor pools were both a sun trap. We used the sauna and jacuzzi once. A hat is required for pool use. The gym was out of action that week, although we were only informed on checkin. Wifi is free in reception and available in room for a few devices for €20. The quality was very variable and unreliable. There are many steps in and out of the resort itself. We were offered a deal for €14.75 for wifi, spa use (which we thought was free anyway) and a free courtesy bus to La Cala, which had to be booked in advance. Many supermarkets within driving distance and restaurants. We used the on site pool bar once as our room was not ready until 5. We had the menu del dia, which was ok. We didn't use the onsite tennis courts etc, and they were hardly used by guests. Best parking is not on the road, but up the hill next to the tennis. Staff were friendly and helpful. We used the resort as a base to go hiking in the mountains and for beach walks. The public bus system is good and cheap. There are big shopping centres a short drive away. We bought a data sim for the week for €10 from a phone shop, for which you need your passport. We already knew the area, but still found places to visit and enjoy. We would return to Grangefield without hesitation. It might have been helpful to have had a file in the room with basic information about the area and amenities in the resort itself.
