Outstanding in all aspects

Excellent staff, great rooms with character, huge and exceptionally comfortable bed.

I chose this hotel as it was cheaper than a national budget chain and it had a health club. I was delighted that I did - the gym was excellent - plenty of kit and all to a good standard. I ordered dinner in advance and ate in my room rather than the bistro - no problem - hot, well cooked, presented well and good quality. The staff were outstanding - friendly and efficient. Breakfast was also very good - thick cut bacon, quality sausage etc - all cooked well and served to table (rather than having to queue up for self-service grey mush sausages and economy bacon). Probably the best night sleep I have had in a hotel for a long time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a taste of luxury and great service at a very competitive price.

Fabulous venue but check the catering

This old but lovingly restored manor house is a fabulous venue.

We were staying mid-week and were disappointed to discover that on weekdays dinner is only available in the cafe of the health spa next door. We decided to have room service instead. But the food quality was really excellent.
