About the hotel
With four new luxury Pods set in nine magical acres of lakes and woodland, Trecombe offers plenty for those who love the outdoors and the ambience of camping but still appreciate a measure of comfort and convenience. Unlike other Pods, ours have been designed to fit a neat little kitchen with electric hob, sink and fridge, a toilet and shower room and one double and two single beds (a travel cot can also be accommodated at a small cost). Great mattresses, lovely bed linen, bathroom towels and kitchen equipment are all provided for.
Made from highly insulated and sustainable material, with double glazed windows and a small electric heater, our Pods are designed to be warm and cosy in the winter while keeping temperatures in check in the summer. A large decked area with picnic table, outdoor beanbags, a Webber BBQ and your very own fire pit (where open fires and toasting marshmallow are obligatory!) ensures you have everything you may need for the perfect stay. A woodland play area with an upturned boat, climbing wall, tree house, nets and rope swings should help keep the younger (and even the older) ones busy. For peace of mind the woodland play area and pods are fenced off from the lakes and are only accessible through a wooden gate. Our new lodge house provides a small communal area with a washing machine and tumble dryer, a TV link to our barn owl, bat and bird box cameras as well as books, games and general information that all our guests are welcome to enjoy. Trecombe Lakes are located in a quiet and peaceful spot just five miles from the historic and vibrant town of Falmouth with its stunning beaches, quirky shops and great restaurants. Close by is the beautiful Helford river boasting ancient woodlands, hidden beaches, quaint pubs and the renowned valley gardens of Glendurgan and Trebah. Further afield are St Michael's Mount, The Eden Project and the surfing beaches of the North Coast. Had a lovely long weekend break (my partner, myself and our two young boys (4 and 6 years).
Was absolutely perfect as our first camping type trip with the two of them. The boys were able to experience the thrills of camping - marshmallows on the open fire, sausages on the barbeque, playing hide and seek around the campsite - whilst still being able to snuggle up in a comfy, warm bed after a quick visit to the En-suite bathroom. (So good to have bathroom/showeroom with two young, muddy, "I need three wees in the middle of the night" boys!) It was great to be able to let them roam freely around the campsite; they were very safe, fenced off from the lake and no matter how far theyvran they were always within shouting distance. Gave them a lovely sense of freedom. The place was super clean and the beds were very comfy too. The boys have already planned their next trip back.
Myself and my girlfriend were looking for a relaxing break in the countryside but didn't fancy camping due to the unpredictable English weather.
The area where the pods are situated is very peaceful and scenic, great if your looking for a chilled holiday. Although the location is out of the way it's only a 15 minute drive to the center of Falmouth. The pod was fully kitted out with everything you would need which was very handy.
The customer service we received was excellent, all our questions were answered promptly. We had a fantastic time and definitely would stay again.
