Seen better days
From the exterior the hotel looks lovely but the interior leaves a lot to be desired.
The ground floor hallway is lumpy and sloping away at the side.
We had a spacious room with a comfortable bed but it was very warm with sun streaming through the large, single glazed window - no privacy during the day. On the 2nd day toiletries had not been replenished where required. When we were checking out, the receptionist on duty was surprised when we gave negative feedback on what she considered to be their best room, (Room 3).
When we enquired about Wi-Fi we were told it was not available. On Friday evening we had to wait until the duty manager had finished serving in reception before we could get a drink at the small, dated bar.
Small but tasty portions at breakfast and the food and tea were luke warm. We will definitely return to beautiful Gairloch but not to this hotel.
The Gairloch Old Hotel
I stayed here for a night; from outdoor it looks an old building and the inside confirms that; the rooms are requiring some restoration, but everything is tidy and clean.
The staff is helpful and polite and the breakfast is good.
