About the hotel
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel with full license, situated in residential area close to Girvan town centre. Five of our seven bedrooms have en suite facilities, and most rooms have views over the town to the Firth of Clyde and Ailsa Craig, known locally as, 'Paddy's Milestane'. The Royal Hotel is located on the West Coast of Scotland in an area of outstanding and largely unspoiled natural beauty.
A five-minute walk from our door will bring you to the charming and picturesque Girvan harbour and miles of clean, sandy shore. Ayrshire is the birthplace of the Open Championship, and the site of the first British Open at Prestwick. Turnberry golf course which has hosted both the British Open and Seniors Open is a ten minute drive from the Hotel. It's also the birthplace of Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns and of Scottish kings and heroes like Robert the Bruce and - so legend has it - of William Wallace.

67% would recommend it to a friend
Confirmation stated that check in was 12.00 onwards however our room wasn't ready until 7.00pm.
Total farce. The owner apologised begrudgingly. When our room was ready we were told that we were in room 8 and the key was in the door.... great hosting skills. We were made to feel very uncomfortable throughout our stay and found the owner intimidating. It would have been nice to have been offered some sort of discount for the inconvenience. We paid 100 pounds per night and this was definitely only worth half the price if that. If you'd like to receive a warm welcome on arrival and a friendly host.... then don't stay here.
In need of a new cleaner
The room we stayed in was a family room plenty of space, and the bed was comfy.
Everywhere needs a through clean especially hoovering.
The staff need to learn customer service, the car park is none existant and the bar does not have any stock.
