81% would recommend it to a friend
Tv didn't work at all.
Bed had serious slope and the window was broke, couldn't close and was in a potentially very dangerous state. Apart from that, fine.
Old and poorly decorated, but the food and service quality make up for it
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean, but there was a strong smell of bleach (at least it proved that it was cleaned before arrival!). The decoration of the hotel and room does really need some new decoration, so I wouldn't recommend it for couples. But if you stay there, make sure to eat dinner at their restaurant. I had one of the best lamb shanks in my life, and my wife was impressed with the game pie. They even served us a generous portion of apple pie to share between the two of us, as we were too full to have one each. The breakfast was cooked on demand, a classic but tasty full English. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel to people who travel alone, or with friends, but not for couples (really not suitable for "quality time", if you know what I mean.
