About the hotel

Authentic Africana artifacts and photos were shipped in from all over Southern Africa and stylish tartans, weaves and leathers were introduced to reflect the comfort and style of a colonial hunting lodge. Oversized cushions, handmade Windsor chairs and animal skins strewn on the floor all make for ambient surroundings. Guildford is situated in the centre of the county of Surrey, within easy reach of Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, and with excellent rail links to London (40 minutes) and the South Coast (50 minutes), and served by M25, M3 and A3, Guildford is the perfect spot from which to explore the whole of South East England.

We can now also boast 5 luxury en-suite letting rooms at The Percy Arms, some with gorgeous slipper baths in the rooms! All rooms have internet access, power showers, and smart TVs and are upholstered in the beautiful wools and tartans previously adorning the pub, still with a touch of Africa. A delicious full breakfast is included in the room price. The pub now boasts 5 luxury en-suite letting rooms, some with gorgeous slipper baths! Already an institution for its steaks and cuts, The Percy Arms continues also offers a range of dishes to tempt even the most faithful carnivore. The recent arrival of new head chef, Ian Wilkie, brings new flair and flavour to the restaurant. Daily specials’ boards include game roasts, speciality steaks and tempting South African dishes. The elegant formality of the dining room is perfect for a meal with friends or family, while the traditional bar is ideal for a relaxing pint or a glass of one of the specially selected wines. The cosy fireplaces are the perfect spot to wind down or you can opt for the beautiful garden with views over the neighbouring hills.

Overnight stay in November

We were extremely impressed with our stay at The Percy Arms, the room was beautiful and the facilities were very good.

The only issue we had was with the cleanliness of the walls in the toilet - they seemed to be streaked with water either from the basin or rain coming in from an open window. Tiling around the basin may be better to enable cleaning. Also there was a used sticking plaster stuck to the tiling in the shower. But apart from these minor issues, everything was great.

2 Night stay in Chilworth

We had a really lovely stay at The Percy Arms.

Our room was well appointed with all the mod cons you would expect. All our food was of an exceptional standard- we had a range of different breakfast choices over both days and we ate in the restaurant both evenings. There was lots to do in the locality including a range of National Trust properties to visit. We would recommend staying at the Percy Arms to our friends and family and would love to stay there again.
