About the hotel

Newly refurbished in February 2015, The Greenside hotel in Glenrothes Fife is family owned and managed accommodation situated at the foot of the Lomond Hills in the village of Leslie. An ideally situated base for a plethora of interests and activities including fishing, clay shooting, golf, walking, falconry, archery and wildlife. We pride ourselves on the quality and cost of our accommodation.

All 11 rooms are en-suite and tastefully decorated, with TV, ironing facilities, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. Located 30 minutes from the home of golf the legendary ST Andrews as well as being just 25 miles north of Scotland's capital city Edinburgh, so as you can see we are ideally located so you could be playing a round of golf one day and be shopping in the capital the next. Lovely room but ...

Room was lovely.

Although it was absolutely freezing we went to the local asda to get jumpers because it was so cold.

We were told it would heat up but I didn't heat up at all.

When booking and paying over the phone nobody advised us that you need to book dinner in advance so we ended up not getting dinner and we weren't allowed to take food to the room.

The bed was lovely and the view was perfect for a nice calm over night stay but the room temperate really let it down because we spent the night absolutely freezing.

In the morning we went for breakfast at 9 and there was such a racket of rock music blaring at 9 am on a Sunday morning so it was a bit off putting when you have just woke up.

The waitress was absolutely lovely though she really made us feel comfortable.
