More plusses than minuses
The room was a little shabby, and could have done with a bit of TLC.
The standard of cleaning was acceptable but could have been improved. It was advertised as being two floors up, so we knew whereabouts the room was situated, but the stairs were quite narrow and this is the one major thing which would might make us think twice about re-booking. Nonetheless there was constant hot water, the shower cubicle contained stainless steel push-button containers of shower gel & shampoo (a great idea), the coffee/tea facilities were kept topped up, and towels were changed regularly. A tube 'went' in the bathroom mirror light, and this was replaced on request. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was of a consistently high standard. Close enough to explore Edinburgh & North Berwick, so we had plenty to do.
Great wee place , friendly pub and excellent restaurant .
Quite noisy at night due to close proximity to busy road and no double glazing . Mentioned this to proprietors but they lease building and owners not prepared to invest in this .O,wise good .
