FIRE ALARMS!!

My wife, 9 and 6 year old girls and myself had an overnight stay at the Strangford Arms.

We had a pleasant meal, a couple of drinks and retired to the room. So far so good. We all drifted off to sleep after a busy day. BOOM. At 5am we were wakened by a deafening fire alarm in the room. My eldest daughter started crying and took a great deal of calming down. I rang reception who surprise, surprise told me the hotel wasn't on fire it was a false alarm. We settled down and tried to get to sleep again when at 5.30am BOOM. the alarm went off again leading to more tears and anger. No more sleep was had that night. On exiting the lift on the way to breakfast I met the Duty Manager Sean. I explained what had happened during the night. His response was pretty much along the lines of I'm sorry but that happens every once in a while!!!. Well Sean, World Wars happen once in a while but people try to make sure they don't. Perhaps you should find out why it happens once in a while and do something about it. Needless to say we were too tired to do many of the activities we had planned to do on exiting the hotel and ended up returning home early.
