Our bedroom was magnificent, spacious & warm.
Although WiFi was free we had to access it in the corridor, probably because of the thick walls. I was disappointed in the public areas of the hotel which I think need freshening up. The first impression of the reception area is not good, in fact you will wonder if you are in the right place, because there is no one on the front desk. It seems really disorganized (Reception area is a cluttered desk at the foot of the stairs). On the whole this place seems very outdated, we first went there 30 yrs ago & it seems much the same. We were there for a family function & food and this was average minus. Breakfast was fine but the presentation of the 'juice/cereal' table was poor and there was no fresh fruit.
Great place to stay
This Hotel offers great value for your money.Lovely location and close to all the important places in Central Scotland.
The period decor is a refreshing change from the usual decor found in most Hotels. The Staff are Very friendly, efficient ,helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. The quality of the food is of a high standard with a varied menu. The Chefs will always accommodate whatever your preferrence is.
