Stop over for Edinburgh Festival

The hotel is very conveniently situated next to the Kirkcaldy railway station for easy access to Edinburgh.

Trains run about every half hour.

We arrived and booked in. Paid for the two nights accommodation on arrival. Room was clean, with separate en suite. Bed huge. The decor was a little tired, but as already mentioned, very clean. We ate in the restaurant (Kumars) that evening. I had an excellent dansak curry with peshwari nan, which was enormous. Very generous portions. My wife had filleted sea bass, with vegetables. Restaurant had a good choice of both indian and english (scottish) cuisine. All at reasonable prices. The bed was comfortable, nicely firm

There was a choice of cereals and toast for breakfast from the buffet. Fruit juice was orange only. Orders taken for full breakfast with a variety of foods (including haggis). Tea and coffee served as desired. My wife drinks peppermint tea and this was available. Neither of us liked the sausage, but being from Lincolnshire, we are spoilt for good sausage. The staff were friendly and accommodating. When booking out we requested to leave our car in their car park for the rest of the day as we were again using the train, and would not be back until later that afternoon. This was no problem to them at all..

Overall, a pleasant stay with no drama.
