Lovely accommodation for Brighton and the Downs
With a warm welcome from Roy, Diane and dogs Polly and Nala we knew we would enjoy our stay in their special home.
Diane's garden was beautifully maintained and added an extra pleasure to our week-end. Tovey Lodge was an excellent base for our visits to Brighton and walk along the Downs, both days started with excellent full English breakfasts and cheerful company of other guests.
Sadly, my visit was marred by an error on the hotel's part in diarising my booking.
On arriving, after a long day's work and travelling, I found my Saturday night booking had been written in their diary for the Sunday, instead - and that there were no rooms initially available. Thankfully, a room being used by a family member was offered, but would first have to be prepared. So, rather than being able to relax, after my tiring journey, I made myself scarce by heading into Brighton. Not ideal, but my hosts pulled out all the stops to accommodate me. By the time I returned, everything was ready. Just as well. I was exhausted. It was a lovely bed in a very nice room - in an idyllic location.
