Very dissatisfied

On arrival we was looked at like something they had just stepped in, however we checked in and went up to our room no 200 and the state of the room was horrendous, the carpet was all frayed, the decor was like something from only fools and horses and the TV was probably a million years old.

We then went out for a bit and then came back wondering wether we should stay or not, we decided to go down for dinner and was totally shocked when my partner asked if he could try something else, he got looked at and spoken to like dog poo and so we left and went to make a complaint, to our suprise the receptionist agreed with us and said that the person who we was complaining about is always like that and shes tried having a go at him before but nothing will get sorted as he was the manager!!, she called a man over called Tim who looked at us with disgust and said "no way there is nothing wrong with him and nothing wrong with the food you must be lying!!!". We stayed the night as nowhere else to book so late in the day and had already paid for this hotel (if thats what you call it) but got no sleep through people banging and running on the floor above us, the hotel stunk of damp and the bed sheets felt damp so We stayed up all night. Our weekend away was ruined by this hotel and it was my boyfriends 25th birthday so I am very annoyed that it was ruined, we will never stay there again. The meal is £12 each and we are currently querying it as it wasnt suitable for a dog let alone a human. Very upset about this!!

The Royal Hotel

Suited our needs.

Enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely and friendly and breakfast was really good, set us up for the day. Could do with a bit of renovation, but beside that would stay again.
