Where to begin.
Of the two rooms I was offered the first had a truly horrible tatty bathroom so I opted for the second which was cleaner but had cobwebs on the windows and a general feeling of 'grime'. The linen was clean but I don't sleep with a duvet so took off the cover – arrghhhhh. It was filthy, tatty and frankly disgusting. The whole place has an unloved feeling and needs a lot of maintenance. Very basic junk shop furniture throughout the hotel. Altogether – grim and not worth the £139 I paid for a twin room through LateRooms.com - the area was completely full so we opted for B & B which should not mean THAT basic. It is conveniently located and breakfast was full English and OK – largely self service in a depressing room. I hope the hotel manager reads this review - they have some serious work to do.
The Moorings Hotel
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The room was in need of redecoration.
