On arriving at the hotel at 11.30pm I was told I had booked two rooms rather than the twin room I had actually booked for myself and my daughter.

The staff booked me in to one room and I thought the issue was resolved. on checking out I was informed by a receptionist that she needed to speak to me as I had must have double clicked and booked two rooms. Apparently she had spoke to her manager who said that basically as a favour to me I would only be charged their commission. I was very unhappy with how this was dealt with and the lack of customer service I experienced. There was no apology or recognition that until arriving at the hotel I was total unaware that two rooms were booked. I objected to being told that I must have double clicked and that was not the customer of the hotel but a Late Rooms customer and should take the matter up them. If the manager had any value for my custom they would have asked to be alerted when I booked out and start with an apology however this occurred. I work with customer service businesses and we always ensure that our staff at least apologies for the inconvenience and poor experience of the customer. If the manager had bothered to speak to me and to acknowledge that somewhere in the system an error had occurred I would have been far more amenable to resolving the matter amicably. The hotel obviously did not consider me to be customer and therefore will not have my business again if they value paying customers so little.

Branston Hall looks lovely but we feel the £139 charge for Saturday night bed & breakfast in a small dated double room is very overpriced.

We were moved to the only available room on the ground floor which was better than where we had originally been put.
