About the hotel

The Old School House, built in the late 18th Century, lies within the Loch Lomond National Park, less than a kilometre from the Loch. The spacious house and garden enjoy panoramic views over farmland and the nature conservation area towards Loch Lomond and the beautiful surrounding mountains. Thirty minutes from Glasgow Airport, the Old School House is the perfect place to stay in the Loch lomond area.

This is a great base from which to enjoy the ample walking, cycling or golfing in the area or to explore the National Park and all it has to offer. Located only a few miles away from Ben Lomond, Scotland's most southerly Munro, you can scale its heights or just walk a segment of The West Highland Way, Scotland's most popular long-distance walk. There are many Lochside or forestry walks for those wanting a less strenuous challenge. It is also in easy driving distance to Glasgow, Edinburgh or Stirling for those looking to explore some of Scotland's towns or cities. Why not visit a local distillery or take a trip on Loch Lomond or nearby Loch Katrine. There are many choices for eating out nearby and the owners will gladly help you tailor make your ideal itinerary.

Comfortable accommodation

As returning customers we received a very warm welcome from our host, Hilary.

The B&B is well positioned for visiting the area. We look forward to seeing the Bothy when it's completed.

an ideal quiet spot for a one night stop-over

I was attending a function at a venue nearby, and needed accommodation for the night.

The Old School House seemed ideal- close to the venue, quiet, and priced right for what I needed. I received a warm welcome, room, bed, facilities all fine, so no problems. The owner does have a very friendly cat that will welcome you, so if that's a problem, then maybe be aware of this...we have a dog, so no probs for me . Thanks
