Small, cheap, clean and friendly!

With kind staff, clean and comfortable rooms and lots of storage space it is a perfect getaway for couples wishing to view the Somerset countryside.

Located right next to Taunton town as well, this picturesque hotel is a godsend for younger couples looking for a comfortable, welcoming hotel.

Comfortable and convenient

I have stayed here a few times for work.

I find it comfortable, clean and good value for money. Much closer to the town centre than the big chain hotels. Pleasant and efficient staff.

The laterooms details were that a £200 room was discounted to £71.

This was a con. The room was a small en-suite double which never in a million years would command £200, more like £30 in mid Jan. A realistic rate would be nearer £45

The Corner House Hotel

Room very cramped and all well worn.

it would be OK if your paying around £30 - £40 a night max.

An overnight stay in Taunton

I booked this hotel through late Rooms, and was informed it was an executive single room and I was saving over £150 on my booking.

When I arrived the room was adequate, clean and warm with nice touches, but certainly not an 'Executive' room. The window in the bedroom was draughty and the view was of the dustbins. It was also just above a smoking area which made the room fill with cigarette smoke. It was also fairly noisy as it became clear the room was above the bar or reception . I had asked that I had a quiet room. The décor leading to the room was shabby, and the bedroom and bathroom was in dire need of redecorating. I had dinner which was o.k. Service was excellent. The food was over priced, for the quantity and quality, as I say the service was very good, with friendly and helpful staff.

Unhappy with room and management attitude.

After enjoying several stays over the years we experienced the worst nights sleep ever in any Hotel we have ever stayed in.

Our Room 12 was very noisy with a constant humming noise. I finally had enough and complained at aprox 3.30 am to reception. We agreed with reception that a Manager would contact me and discuss the situation over following days by contacting me at home. Nobody could be bothered or seem to care, so we have cancelled a booking made for another night. As a matter of interest staff knew about this room and sympathised with us at breakfast. Never again!

Value for money

This hotel was very impressive for the price we paid.

Not earth shattering by any stretch of the imagination but the quality represented value for money. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to dine at the wine and sausage restaurant attached but from what we saw it looked incredible. Would happily stay again if I was in the area.
