Excellent hotel for the price
I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been happy with the service and prices.
My last stay I fell ill and had to ask for a late check out, this was not a problem for the hotel and I wasn't charged any extra. The hotel has recently started to update its rooms and is looking better than the last stay. Breakfast, which is included in the price is perfect for a good start to the day. It can occasionally be quite noisy if there is a private function on, but the staff will try and accommodate giving you a quieter room if possible. The only problem I have ever had was that my wifes deodorant caused the fire/smoke alarm in the room to go off and was accused of smoking in the room. This was sorted by the owner quickly and efficiently and apologies given for the mistake.
This is a great hotel for the price and I always look for it first to see if rooms are available before I look elsewhere.
What a surprise, a very nice surprise
After reading some of the reviews and seeing the price of this hotel I thought that it was going to be cheap and cheerful with budget facilities and service to match.
Totally the opposite , friendly freeting and someone even offered to take my bag upstairs for me (after an injury 2 years ago i use a walking stick and struggle with steps & stairs)
Receptionist very nice, explained everything and was always polite.
The room was a double and although a tad small it was clean and we'll presented even the complimentary buscuits , tea , coffee & toiletries were all present and correct . For the price I was not expecting that !.
As for noise , I was a few metres from the main staircase and with a function going on i expected some noise . Quite the opposite, lovely and peaceful and lots of areas around to sit on sofas etc . Unfortunately i was having breakfast elsewhere so I didn't get to try (this was included in the price) . On my departure i commented that i would have loved to have tried it based on my findings that the previous reviews were totally the opposite to my experience. I am definitely going to stay again and try the breakfast and probably the other restaurant food.
At that price for a B&B of such great standard I would recommend to any one visiting Glasgow. I've travelled around the U.K. and world-wide and stayed in high priced hotels which do not provide anywhere near the same value for money and quality.
This was good for a nights stay however the bed mattress was very soft and you could feel the bottom through the mattress and there was a hole in the bathroom door and curtains needed fixed.
Apart from these issues it was a very nice hotel.
Not the best......
We arrived on Saturday at 10pm and were eager to change and go out for a bite, but on entering the room I was overwhelmed by how small it was and also the smell of sewage was rank.
Immediately asked for a move but told no other room available, opened all windows (2) and tried to get in the mood for relaxing. We were disturbed day and night by a group of children ranging from 0-18 + sitting in the lobby area at the top of the stairs, and beside our room, they were there from 7am crying shouting screaming and on only one occasion did I see adult supervision, on our departure no less. The morning of check out, went to breakfast at 09.35 and told in no uncertain terms, breakfast over ain't happening!. I bit my tongue so many times during our stay it wasn't even funny. The upside, mostly the staff were lovely and especially Brian the night porter, who kindly opened the cocktail bar, and made me a nightcap. 10/10 Brian. The reception staff, who once heard about the breakfast fiasco deducted the price of the nightcap from our bill. Overall the place was in need of some work, our shower was pitiful drips of hot then cold water the constant sewage smell and the claustrophobic feeling in the room is enough to ensure I don't return. Feel bad as staff lovely ☹️
A GEM OF A HOTEL
Would Def stay again.
Safe, spotlessly clean, excellent home cooked meals, relaxed bar/restaurant, lovely room and genuinely friendly on the ball staff who go out of their way to help you. Vey good location for any event at the Emirates Arena as it was only £5 in a private hire car to the venue from the hotel. Bus stop right outside the hotel for transport into town but it only cost £8 to Buchanan bus station. Would def recommend.
Kings Park Hotel
When we arrived we were met by very freindly staff, the reception and lobby area could have done with a vacume and was a bit grubby, roome was very clean and well kept, no hairdryer, tea and coffee makeing was supplied, toiler door did not close properly and the hot water was at boiling point, shower did not work properly, restraunt was brilliant food was excellent and the waiting staff were great, overlooking these minor problems it was a very nice stay.
Kept awake it'd of the night as we were above the smokers area outside absutel nightmare of a room nice hotel though
Very enjoyable stay for a wedding

The Kings Park proved to be an unsettling experience.
On arrival at the room my son found small pieces of glass in his bed and scratched himself on it. This shocked both of us and we went to notify reception about this straight away. They apologised and found us another room straight away. The rooms are very dark with a small window and a full length black wall so the light was needed all the time even when it was full daylight outside. Not very energy efficient or welcoming. The bathroom was not totally clean and the shower leaked onto the main living area carpet. The room was adjacent to a mid corridor doorway that needed oiling and the hinge repaired. Every time someone went down the corridor the door squeaked and crashed against the room wall which was noisy and disconcerting. In the morning the room cleaning staff were there early and the corridor was strewn with dirty sheets with unattractive views into the laundry room when we went down to breakfast. On the positive side, the bed were comfy and the breakfast was good.
Needs a place to stay for 1 night in Rutherglen area.
Although the hotel is showing it's age, there is some renovation work going on and at £30 it was an incredible deal. If I was coming back to this area I would definitely check for availability again. The room was simple but comfortable enough, and the breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in, I'm glad I chose this hotel.
